Job Description

The role of the Legal & Compliance Trainee is designed to provide essential support to the L&C team by assisting with a variety of compliance screening and administrative tasks Key responsibilities include screening of business partners for remediation. The trainee will also perform filing and documentation of all screening results, risk assessment reports and other legal admin files and templates. The role also includes assisting the team in the preparation of awareness campaign and training materials for upcoming compliance projects. This position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience and develop foundational skills in legal and compliance.

Main Tasks

  • Due diligence of the group’s business partners and compliance risk assessment
  • Performing due diligence on existing and active business partners
  • Review and monitor Business partners in the portfolio of the compliance screening tool, including dashboard preparation
  • Monitor PEP list and sanctioned entities
  • Assist in the implementation of the IDD improvement plan project
  • Provide periodic reports on the risk assessment results
  • Assist in the updating of IDD templates
  • Assist in the compliance risk assessment project

General

  • Perform proper filing and archiving of compliance files in Teams
  • Assist in the preparation of Powerpoint presentations and templates for upcoming L&C projects (i.e. awareness campaigns, trainings and other communication materials)
  • Assist the L&C Manila team in administrative tasks

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, Legal Management, Pre-Law or Juris Doctor
  • At least 1 year of work experience
  • Proficient in English (both written and oral)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with sanctions and risk monitoring and screening is an advantage
  • Compliance or Audit background is an advantage
  • Detail oriented with a systematic approach and focus
  • You possess energy and drive
  • You have a solution-oriented attitude
  • You are a team-player, but also demonstrate the ability to work independently
  • You work efficiently, ability to multi-task and produce quality work in a fast-paced environment and achieve results on time
  • You possess excellent communication skills
  • Able and willing to adapt and function in diverse situations with diverse business cultures on all continents
  • Ability to be digitally proficient and navigate/explore compliance tools and applications
  • Possess good report writing, creativity and presentation skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • This position is for one (1) year contract period
