
Job Description
The Customer Data Custodian’s primary responsibility is to help ensure the quality, integrity, and proper handling of customer data within the organization. This role supports data governance initiatives by maintaining accurate customer records, assisting in data quality checks, and helping enforce compliance with data governance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
A. Customer Data Maintenance
- Assist in the accurate creation, update, and deactivation of customer data records across core systems (e.g., Data warehouse, Salesforce CRM, Automated Billing System - ABS).
- Conduct basic data entry and validation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
B. Customer Document Consolidation
- Support the collection, tagging, and uploading of customer-related documents (e.g. bills, contracts, single line diagrams) into centralized repositories.
- Ensure that document metadata is properly recorded for easy search and retrieval.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to resolve issues related to missing or inconsistent documentation.
C. Data Quality Support
- Assist in performing routine data quality checks and identifying inconsistencies or errors in customer data.
- Support the clean-up of duplicate or inaccurate customer records.
- Help document data standards and definitions for customer information.
- Learn and apply basic data cleansing techniques.
D. Basic Reporting and Analysis Support
- Collaborate with data stewards, owners, and system users to drive data quality improvements and implement governance practices that enable reliable analytics.
- Generate reports and dashboards to monitor data quality and performance metrics.
Minimum Qualifications
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Knowledgeable in data concepts, database structures, and data accuracy
- Knowledgeable in data governance / custodianship and implementation of data standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Python is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, detail-oriented
- Ability to adapt to latest technology and IT systems
- Strong analytical thinking with a curiosity about data and business processes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new systems such as CRM Salesforce, ABS (automated billing systems), Amazon Web Services (AWS), data warehouses, and governance tools
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field
- 1-2 years working experience, preferably in the Energy Industry
- Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
