Role Description

The People Coordinator is the heart of our employee experience. You will own the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding through to offboarding — while nurturing the culture, engagement, and development that makes our studio a great place to work. You bring both strong HR operational foundations and a genuine passion for people.

Core Functions

Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment logistics: post roles, manage candidate communications, and schedule interviews.
  • Support hiring managers to deliver a consistent, values-aligned candidate experience.
  • Manage onboarding processes including checklists, system access, equipment coordination, and orientation support.
  • Execute offboarding steps including documentation, access removal, and exit coordination.

Human Resouce Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems (BambooHR).
  • Administer benefits enrolments and changes in coordination with providers.
  • Prepare HR documentation and ensure compliance with employment standards and internal policies.
  • Monitor adherence to BC employment standards and regulatory requirements.

Performance, Learning & Development

  • Support performance review cycles: ensure managers schedule reviews, track completion, and maintain related documentation.
  • Coordinate professional development and learning opportunities for employees.
  • Maintain performance and training records.

Culture, Engagement & Internal Communications

  • Support culture-building initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications.
  • Plan and coordinate team events, celebrations, and engagement activities aligned with our values.
  • Draft internal communications highlighting milestones and employee stories.
  • Gather informal feedback to help strengthen an inclusive, connected workplace.

Schedule

  • The role has an average of about 5-10 hours per week (approximately)
  • This role is on a flexible working schedule with no fixed schedule

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years in HR coordination, people operations, or a similar role (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting recruitment logistics and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
  • Familiarity with people systems (e.g., BambooHR) and comfort with spreadsheets and documentation.
  • Understanding of BC employment standards and HR compliance basics (or ability to learn quickly).
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple timelines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; confident coordinating across teams.
  • Proactive, service-oriented, and motivated by building a positive employee experience.
