Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Engineer specializing in the deployment and data migration of enterprise clients to Google Workspace. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical expert, guiding customers through their transition from various platforms, such as Microsoft 365, Exchange, Zimbra, and others, to Google Workspace.

This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and communication skills. The Customer Engineer will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring seamless migration, resolving technical challenges, and fostering strong customer relationships throughout the deployment lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical planning, deployment, and data migration of enterprise customers to Google Workspace.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for migrations from Microsoft 365, Exchange, and other legacy systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve migration and deployment issues through effective troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Google Workspace technologies and migration tools to address customer-reported challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Sales) and customer stakeholders to remove technical obstacles.
  • Support customers with technical configurations, including domain setup, user provisioning, mail routing, and security settings.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge across other Google product areas (e.g., Chrome Enterprise, Gemini Enterprise, and others).
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in deploying and migrating enterprise customers to Google Workspace.
  • Hands-on experience migrating from Microsoft 365/Exchange or other IMAP systems.
  • Proficiency with native Google and third-party migration tools (e.g., CloudM, BitTitan, Google Workspace Migrate).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and collaborative approach.

It’s a Plus If You Have:

  • Experience with other Google products (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Chrome Enterprise, AppSheet).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, GAM, Apps Script) for automation and reporting.
