Key Responsibilities:
Editorial/Content Production Support
- Pitches story ideas and writes articles: 5 articles per week that are approved by
- the USA & Canada Channel Editor. May also be assigned to write about specific
- topics.
- Conducts interviews for stories.
- Posts 4 wire stories a day (or 20 per week) about trending topics with a focus on
- entertainment, crime, consumer alerts and health-related topics.
- Assists with editing, as needed.
- Applies SEO techniques.
Administrative Support
- Monitors trends and published content related to Filipino Americans and Filipino
- Canadians online and on social media, then compile a list of leads with links to
- sources of information.
- Assists the Channel Editor with developing and managing a content calendar.
- Coordinates troubleshooting of tech-related issues (CMS, photos, thumbnail etc.)
- with the IT team, as needed.
- Assists with obtaining and editing photos, as needed
- Performs other assigned tasks occasionally, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- College graduate.
- Skills and Experience: Familiarity with WordPress and AP style.
- Working knowledge of grammar and spelling. Good vocabulary and writing
- experience. Editing and/or writing test may be required.
