Assistant Restaurant Manager

Position Title: Assistant Manager

Department: Operations

Reports To: Operations Manager & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: Gyukatsu まつ村 BGC

3rd Floor, Park Triangle Mall

32nd Street corner 11th Avenue

Bonifacio Global City, Taguig

The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Operations Manager and CEO in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. The role ensures excellent guest experience, operational efficiency, food quality, cleanliness, profitability, and team performance while maintaining the company's standards and culture.

The Assistant Manager serves as a key leader on the floor, assists in executing management directives, develops team members, and ensures all operational procedures are consistently followed.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

- Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations.

- Ensure smooth coordination between Front-of-House and Back-of-House teams.

- Monitor opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures.

- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and operational standards.

- Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.

- Ensure readiness of equipment, facilities, and supplies at all times.

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

- Ensure all guests receive exceptional service.

- Actively engage with guests and gather feedback.

- Handle guest complaints and service recovery professionally.

- Monitor dining room operations and guest satisfaction.

- Maintain service standards consistent with the Gyukatsu brand.

- Promote a culture of hospitality and professionalism.

Team Leadership & Supervision

- Supervise restaurant staff during operations.

- Conduct daily briefings and shift endorsements.

- Monitor employee performance and productivity.

- Coach, mentor, and develop team members.

- Support employee training and onboarding programs.

- Foster teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.

- Assist in implementing disciplinary procedures when necessary.

Recruitment & Human Resources Support

- Assist in recruitment activities and manpower planning.

- Support employee onboarding, orientation, and training.

- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and employee conduct.

- Assist in employee engagement and retention initiatives.

- Maintain employee records and training documentation.

Sales & Business Development

- Support initiatives that drive sales growth.

- Monitor daily sales performance and key metrics.

- Assist in implementing marketing and promotional activities.

- Encourage upselling and suggestive selling practices.

- Analyze sales trends and recommend improvements.

- Support guest retention and loyalty-building initiatives.

Inventory & Cost Control

- Monitor inventory levels and stock movement.

- Ensure proper receiving, storage, and stock rotation procedures.

- Assist in conducting inventory counts and audits.

- Monitor food waste and implement waste reduction initiatives.

- Support food cost and operating expense control measures.

- Coordinate with suppliers regarding operational requirements when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum of three (3) years supervisory or leadership experience in restaurant operations.

- Experience in casual dining, premium casual dining, or Japanese restaurant operations is preferred.

- Experience handling customer complaints, team supervision, inventory management, purchasing, and restaurant financial controls.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership and people management skills.

- Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Filipino.

- Strong organizational and administrative skills.

- Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, and cost control.

- Ability to analyze operational and financial reports.

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and restaurant POS systems.

- Familiarity with AI tools and modern workplace technology is an advantage.

Work Schedule

- Flexible schedule based on operational requirements.

- Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifting schedules.

- May be required to render extended hours during peak periods, special events, and pre-opening activities.
