Job Description

The Creative Director (CD) is responsible not just for ideas but for creative authority, clarity, and leadership. This role exists to raise the level of creative thinking and execution across the agency, strengthen client confidence in our creative leadership, and build teams that can consistently produce distinctive, effective work.

This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams across copy, art, video, and other creative functions to deliver high-impact and innovative campaigns that align with client objectives and business goals.

The CD champions a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring the team's creative output consistently meets or exceeds industry standards and resonates with target audiences. This leader also acts as a key liaison with clients, stakeholders, and senior executives to foster strong partnerships and ensure creative initiatives effectively align with broader business and brand strategies. Lastly, the CD sets the team's culture and working ways which should be aligned with the company's overall values & business objectives.

Summary

  • Set and uphold a clear creative standard across brands and teams
  • Provide strong art and copy direction that elevates work, not just critiques it
  • Reduce ambiguity by clearly framing ideas, decisions, and next steps
  • Coach Art Directors, Associate Creative Directors, and designers to become stronger presenters and leaders
  • Actively participate in key client briefs, strategy discussions, and major presentations
  • Partner closely with Account Management to build trust, credibility, and alignment with clients, confidently present and defend creative ideas, including bolder or less obvious directions, with clarity and conviction
  • Translate business and brand challenges into strong creative opportunities
  • Ensure work is distinctive and does not default to safe or category-generic solutions
  • Push teams beyond expected executions while remaining grounded in brand truth and business realities
  • Balance ambition with practicality, knowing when to push and when to simplify
  • Ensure a seamless consumer journey / experience across different touchpoints
  • Lead creative vision through all stages of film production, from storyboarding to final color grade.
  • Develop creative concepts for experiential marketing and activations that drive physical engagement and social amplification.
  • Lead with calm authority and decisiveness, especially under pressure
  • Create an environment where teams feel guided, challenged, and supported
  • Build credibility with creatives, accounts, and operations by being fair, clear, and consistent
  • Raise the floor of output across teams, not just the ceiling on select projects
  • Serve as a high-level creative partner to key clients, providing a consistent & authoritative presence that builds long-term trust and ensures they feel their brand is in expert hands.
  • Other related duties as required or assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design, communication, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a creative leadership role within a creative or digital marketing agency, with a strong portfolio of successful, innovative campaigns.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor creative teams, with a deep understanding of digital and social media landscapes.
  • Expertise in design software, digital tools, and platforms, with a solid understanding of brand storytelling, consumer behavior, and marketing trends.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and articulate creative ideas effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with a deep commitment to creativity, quality, and operational excellence.
  • A great storyteller
