Business Analyst  

Main Job Purpose

Analysis and Solution Definition

• Defines and documents customer business functions and processes.
• Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
• Consults with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
• Acts as a liaison between business users and technical team in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of applications to ensure optimal operational performance.
• Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance.
• Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.

Technical Documentation

• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver standard artifacts or templates as needed

• Documents
  • Provide system documentation on assigned software/applications.
• Project Execution
  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Assist in the development of project definitions, cost/benefit and risk analysis, work plans, progress reports, and presentations
  • Mentor developers for project development task and issues;
  • Prepare policies and procedures / incident reports / change request / work-in-progress reports to keep management, users and the team informed of projects issues;
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing;
  • Problems/Issues Analysis and Isolation;
  • Training of End Users and creation of end user documentation;
  • Monitoring and documentation of all changes

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience as business analyst
3. Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
4. Strong problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills · Demonstrated communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create detailed, well-written documentation for a variety of audiences.
6. Ability to effectively achieve results in highly ambiguous and changing environments
7. Ability to work well in cross-functional team environments, build and maintain excellent relationships with cross-functional teams.
8. Strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle
9. Previous experience working with customer facing websites.
