Electrician  

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Energy and Utilities Management Section Head, the Electrician performs electrical meter reading, replacement or trouble shooting of electric meter, performs minor preventive maintenance for all electrical transformers, first private pole, and Ring Main Units.

This position also supports the efforts in overseeing compliance with energy management standards through monitoring of electrical meters and maintenance of electrical equipment crucial for energy management and efficiency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Energy Facility Management

• Implements preventive maintenance of electrical meters, replacement trouble shooting of electric meters, minor preventive maintenance of electrical transformers, first private pole, and Ring Main Units in the Loyola Schools and APS campus
• Cleans transformers and Ring Main Units
• Checks overhead high-tension cables are cleared of trees and leaves
• Inspects electrical transformers using thermal scanners, and retightens transformer lugs when needed
• Implements minor repair of equipment as needed
• Prepares summary report of preventive maintenance results and recommendations
• Implements regular electrical meter reading and encodes data in aid of energy audit activities
• Gathers data on electrical equipment for audit report in accordance with Ra 11285

Utility Provider and Contractor Support

• Coordinates and prepares requirements for Meralco and for other contractors’ site inspection and or repair works in the campus
  • Arranges utility room access and provides needed information
  • Provides required logistical support functions

Facilities and Utilities Group Support

• Supports Equipment and Motorpool Section by implementing installation and repairs with its Section’s team
• Implements maintenance and upkeep of workplace and assigned tools
• Performs other duties that may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representatives

Education and Experience Requirements

• Certified Electrician
• At least 6 months of TESDA training as Electrician
• At least 3 years Residential and Commercial electrical installation

Knowledge

Administrative: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology (required for encoding of Electrical Meter Readings and preparing reports)

Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction (required for interaction with clients when doing repairs)
