The Merchandise Planning Assistant plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of sales targets, analyzing sales data, coordinating demand planning for new collections, assisting in inventory management, and conducting competitor checks.
What you'll do:
Target Setting
- Assist in setting monthly sales targets based on historical sales trends per month, per class category, and store performance.
Sales Data Analysis
- Monitor sell-through of all launched collections.
- Generate monthly sales reports for assigned categories.
Demand Planning and Execution for New Collections
- Support in proposing collection budgets based on historical sales trends.
- Assist in planning demand for upcoming collections by analyzing class type, sub-class types, sizes, fabric, color, and design/style.
- Support in proposing store budgets aligned with total planned demand for upcoming collections.
- Assist in allocating inventory to stores and online platforms based on targets.
Inventory Management
- Analyze monthly inventory and three-month average sales to determine Months to Sell (MTS).
- Identify and consolidate low and broken on-hand quantities per style across all stores and reallocate to stores with higher demand.
Competitor Analysis
- Conduct regular competitor checks through online research and physical store visits.
Minimum Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, Accountancy, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools).
- Strong understanding of the Retail Apparel and Fashion industry, including market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
