The Quality Control Manager & Auditor is responsible for overseeing the quality inspection process across all stages of garment production while ensuring that internal standards and client specifications are consistently met. This hybrid role involves managing the daily activities of quality inspectors and independently auditing the production and quality systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality benchmarks.
What you’ll do:
- Supervise and guide quality control inspectors across cutting, embro, printing, sewing, finishing and other processes (like embel etc), to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Check fabric, trim and other production material inspection reports highlighting any potential problem to the Purchasers and Merchandisers for them to communicate any issues with the suppliers.
- Ensure to conduct and schedule PP Meeting with Sewing Subcon on time for their feed on date together with Coors.
- Ensure to conduct in-line and final inspection aligning with production critical path making sure to prioritize according to agreed launch date to evaluate product quality and compliance with buyer specifications.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and inspection protocols.
- Monitor real-time quality issues and provide immediate corrective actions while coordinating it to the Technical Quality Manager for appropriate preventive action.
- Independently audit factory processes, documentation, and finished goods for internal quality reviews.
- Generate audit reports with findings, root cause analysis, and recommended corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) together with Technical Quality Manager.
- Train and mentor new and existing QC staff on inspection techniques, quality standards, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and non-conformities for reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with production, technical and merchandising teams to resolve recurring quality concerns.
- Ensure all products meet legal, brand, and client quality requirements before shipment.
- Review entire in-house and Roving QC set up and check workload against headcount to determine cost effectiveness.
- Set up QC KPI and conduct periodic review of people’s performance, ensure they meet the target KPI on quality and quantity.
- Ensure that Counter and Top Samples are checked on time and comments are sent to Subcon on time
- Spot check / review of counter and reference sample together with Evaluator and highlight potential issue(s).
- Review quality systems and procedures (in-house and Subcon) and make sure they are implemented.
- Reduces RSS by continuous communication with RQC and Subcon on high rejection rate contributors.
- Oversee the proper receipt and documentation of all incoming items delivered to the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate the transfer of items that successfully pass quality inspection to the Finished Goods Warehouse in a timely and organized manner.
- Assess items that require repair and determine the appropriate course of action—either returning them to the factory or facilitating in-house repairs. Items deemed irreparable or unfit for timely shipment must be classified accordingly as Class B or damaged.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of item statuses and classifications. Collaborate closely with quality control, production, and logistics teams to ensure proper handling, accountability, and traceability of all items.
- Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring tasks are complementary without redundancy
Minimum Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within the garment production industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, including AQL 2.5 and final inspection processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze production and quality data and implement improvement plans.
- Familiarity with fabric and trim inspections, product risk assessments, and physical testing methods.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with training and mentoring teams to improve performance.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high quality standards.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and the ability to implement improvements
