Denim and Bottom Designer  

What you will do:

1. Brainstorming/ Conceptualization :

• Actively participate in brainstorming and generating ideas that are well-suited for the designated theme of the season.
• Collaborate with the team to conduct research on the latest fashion trends and ensure alignment with the primary directives provided by the Creative Director.
• Engage in collaborative discussions with the team to select an appropriate color palette that complements the theme.
• Contribute actively to the exploration and research process involved in selecting silhouettes, fabrics, prints, graphics, and embellishments that will contribute to a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing design collection.
• Demonstrate confidence in working with the group and subsequently present the concept to the entire team.

2. Fabric Print Artworks / Graphic Prints /Embellishments:

• Collaborate with graphic artists to develop prints, graphics, and embellishments necessary for the collection.
• Work with the team to present prints and embellishments.
• Ensure that all color indications (Pantone references) are a good match for the collection.
• Completing copyright forms to ensure that all artworks are original, thus avoiding potential legal copyright issues.
• Work with the R&D and Artists during lab dip and strike off approvals to ensure harmony and exact color matching with our designated Pantone colors.

3. Initial Techpacks:

• Preparation of technical packs.
• Contribute to the specifications and construction guidelines.
• Collaborate with the pattern makers on intricate styles that require initial draping or mock-ups.
• Ensure to complete details so that proto sampling process will flow smoothly

4. Fittings :

• Ensure to collaborate effectively with fitters, and pattern makers in relation to fittings.

5. Bottom Fabric Selections, Washing And Technical Responsibilities :

• Responsible for managing all aspects of denim, twill, and canvas bottoms across various categories, ensuring a cohesive product line that aligns with brand standards and market trends.
• Overseeing the complete design process for bottoms, which encompasses the development of technical specifications, creation of patterns, strategic allocation of fabrics, and the implementation of washing techniques to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality.
• Coordinating with suppliers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across various functions, including development, operations, and washing processes, to ensure consistency and quality in product delivery.
• Conducting thorough analyses of the target market, including their preferences, purchasing behaviour, and emerging trends, to guide product development and enhance market positioning.
• Task with creating and refining processes that aim to optimize lead times for both development and production, enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing time to market.
• Strong emphasis on developing effective specifications and blocks for all categories of bottoms, ensuring that each product maintains a high standard of quality and performance.

6. Styling:

Responsible for styling their collections in a way that not only reflects the brand's unique identity but also emphasizes its core values and vision.

What we are looking for:

• Education: A degree in Fashion Design
• Skills: - Exceptional fashion sense
• Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator)
• Up-to-date knowledge of color trends and fashion industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong understanding of garment proportions
• Proficiency in pattern making and sewing
• Experienced in Designing Children Clothing locally or international is an advantage
• possess extensive knowledge of the technical aspects pertaining to denim, twill, and canvas bottoms, encompassing the entire process from design to development to the final product.
• Proficiency in making a Technical Pack is a must, for after all the CADs are done this is the next step for us to move forward
