Adarna House is looking for a Finance Officer to support the financial operations of its affiliated school in Fairview.
During the first 3–6 months, the successful candidate will be primarily based at Adarna House's Quezon City office, working closely with the Finance team to understand the school's existing financial processes, systems, policies, and reporting requirements. This initial transition period will involve reviewing current workflows, assisting with finance-related activities, and documenting procedures to support the effective implementation of financial processes within the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Study, review, and document existing financial processes, systems, policies, and internal controls during the initial transition period.
- Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and standardize financial workflows and procedures.
- Assist in the transition and implementation of finance processes within the affiliated school.
- Support the school's day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and disbursements.
- Record, monitor, and reconcile financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist in monitoring cash balances and cash flow.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, schedules, forecasts, and other finance-related documentation.
- Assist in budget preparation, expense monitoring, cost management, and financial forecasting.
- Support payroll-related processes and ensure the proper documentation of payroll transactions.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, government reporting requirements, and internal policies.
- Maintain complete and organized financial records and supporting documents for audit and reporting purposes.
- Coordinate with relevant departments and personnel regarding financial transactions, documentation, and operational requirements.
- Assist in strengthening internal controls and preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
- Perform other finance- and accounting-related duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, Accounting Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting. Experience in an educational institution is an advantage but not required.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Analytical and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and other Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
- Familiarity with accounting software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is an advantage.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn existing processes, adapt to new systems, and recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with different teams.
