Engineering Management Assistant  

The Engineering Management Assistant is responsible in supporting the development of Renewable Energy (hydro, solar, wind, etc.), New Technologies and Thermal Projects to generate additional and new capacity for Aboitiz Power and to ensure the ‘fitness for purpose’ of the civil, mechanical and electrical assets of the existing operating Renewable Plants. This includes manpower allocation on multiple projects to ensure projects are technically supported, explored, modeled and designed in accordance with best practices and standards, within budgets and agreed schedules with a strong focus on commercial returns, efficiency, good safety and environmental practice. It includes interfacing with project development, project execution and renewable BUs.

Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities:

• Assists in evaluating and updating the performance of the Engineering Support against internal AP benchmarks as well as against standards in the engineering power industry.
• Assists in implementing existing Standard Operating Procedures, company policies and procedures, rules and regulations within the work area, and recommends review and changes where necessary.
• Assists in planning for future staffing requirements and skill sets and recommends hiring of personnel and training of team members to further develop their potential; imposes disciplinary action and/or termination of team members when required.
• Assists in building up cohesive and functional project teams from within the group that work efficiently and have the resources and support to effectively complete their work assignments.
• Assists in the overall management and oversight of the Engineering Support Department for all Aboitiz Power Greenfield Projects.
• Assists in identifying and managing Project resource requirements, both internal and external, including forming & building up development & site management teams.
• Assists in managing the Engineering Support process including concept & design reviews with internal and external independent reviewers and provide liaison and assistance to the engineers as well as any consultants used.

Minimum Qualification

• 1-year related work experience in renewable energy development

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSME / BSEE / BSCE) or equivalent
• Licensed Engineer
• Must be articulate verbally or in writing
• Strong analytical and planning skills;
• Good communication and presentation skills;
• Excellent problem-solving skills;
