Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
The Theater Crew is responsible for providing technical and operational support for all productions and events held within the venue. The position ensures the proper installation, operation, and restoration of lighting, sound, video, flying systems, rigging, and stage configurations in accordance with venue standards and safety protocols.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Pre-Production Support
- Assists in reviewing technical requirements submitted by the production team to ensure compatibility with venue facilities
- Coordinates with the Resident Technical Director (RTD), Lighting Designer (LD), and Sound Designer (SD) regarding lighting, sound, and video layouts
- Reviews proposed lighting, speaker, microphone, projector, and screen configurations for proper rigging and setup
- Assesses flying schedules and identifies equipment requiring integration into the fly system
- Supports preparation of venue configurations prior to installation
- Reviews stage layout and configuration requirements
- Reviews seating plans and staging adjustments in coordination with the technical team
II. Production Operations
- Implements and supports the installation of technical elements within the venue
- Performs rigging of lighting, sound, and video equipment
- Conducts cable plotting and ensures safe and organized routing
- Assists in lighting focus, speaker adjustments, and technical alignment
- Ensures safe rigging and operational practices during the production period
- Conducts safety checks on installed lighting, sound, and video fixtures
- Assists in the execution of all flying and rigging requirements
- Supports stage operations and venue setup
- Implements approved staging configurations
- Assists in setting up in-house platforms and seating
III. Post-Production and Maintenance
- Assists in dismantling, restoring, and resetting venue equipment to standard configuration after each production
- Returns lighting and flying systems to venue standards
- Ensures proper storage and safekeeping of technical equipment
- Monitors and reports equipment condition
- Conducts routine checks of lighting, sound, video, and flying systems
- Reports equipment damage or safety concerns to the Resident Technical Director
- Assists in maintaining venue staging platforms and seating facilities
IV. Online and Remote Production Support
- Coordinates remotely with on-site maintenance and security personnel when necessary
- Assists in video editing, animation, and graphics preparation for online productions
- Supports documentation, planning, and budgeting for upcoming online productions
- Coordinates with production stakeholders and prospective participants for online events
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge on the following theater technical operations:
- Lighting System;
- Sound System; and
- Fly rigging system
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree holder
- At least 3years experience in theater work
