Core Responsibilities

The role is multifaceted, blending data engineering, business analysis, and systems architecture.

Performance Optimization

Architects ensure that when a user clicks a dashboard, the underlying query is efficient. This often involves:

Designing aggregate tables.

Managing caching strategies.

Selecting between "Live" connections or "In-memory" extracts.

Tool Integration

They ensure the semantic layer works across various BI tools (like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker) and data warehouses (like Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery).
