Sr Data Administrator  

Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and support enterprise-level databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.

Monitor database performance and implement optimization and tuning for high availability and scalability.

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance through robust backup and recovery strategies.

Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design efficient database structures and improve query performance.

Automate repetitive DBA tasks using scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior database team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 3–5+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator with proven expertise in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, and SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of database performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and replication.
• Hands-on experience in backup/recovery planning, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
