Application Support Analyst  

The position acts as an Analyst Programmer who is responsible for providing application production support and problem analysis to SunSmart Life Insurance Point of Sales application. The main responsibilities are:

• Incident Handling: Issues/tickets reported by the Business or users
• Service Request fulfillment: Support ad-hoc or non-incident related requests from the business or users
• Problem Management: Finding the root cause of recurring issues and driving for the implementation of permanent fixes.

Detailed description of tasks:

• Accept, assign, and handle Incident tickets when they come in. Driving for the resolution of these issues via quick fix or permanent fix if applicable.
• Ensure that business users are kept well informed of the progress of the Incident tickets until resolution.
• Ensure proper coordination with business users regarding their Service Request tickets to ensure details and requirements are complete. Service request types range from quick inquiry, data extract, report, or validation requests.
• Ensure proper root cause analysis activities are done for Problem Tickets. Coordinating with different teams/groups involved in the recurring/major issue. Create a plan to address/implement the permanent fix.
• This position is also expected to perform daily health check/monitoring and on occasion planned validation over the weekend or night depending on the schedule of the change/activity affecting the application supported.

• Proven experience in application development using Java (experience with Spring Boot is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, or Microsoft SQL Server
• Good understanding of database design, query optimization, and stored procedures
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and system integration
• Familiar with version control systems such as Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus
