Job Summary:

The Content Editor is a vital role at M2.0 Communications, responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all content produced by the agency. This includes press releases, articles, blog posts, social media content, website copy, marketing materials, and more. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled editor with a keen eye for detail, a strong command of the English language (and ideally Filipino/Tagalog), a deep understanding of the Philippine media landscape and target audiences, AND proven experience in leading and mentoring content teams. You will manage a team of content writers and editors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure the delivery of exceptional content that meets our clients' needs and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Editing & Proofreading:

Thoroughly edit and proofread all types of content to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style consistency.

Ensure content adheres to M2.0 Communications' brand guidelines and client-specific style guides.

Verify facts and sources to ensure accuracy and credibility.

Improve the overall readability and engagement of content.

Content Strategy & Development Support:

Collaborate with content writers and strategists to develop content plans that align with client objectives.

Provide feedback on content ideas and outlines to ensure they are strategically sound and audience-focused.

Conduct research on relevant topics to enhance content quality and depth.

Help ensure content is optimized for search engines (SEO) and social media platforms.

Team Leadership & People Management:

Manage a team of content writers and editors, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Set clear expectations and goals for team members.

Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project status, share knowledge, and address any challenges.

Identify training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with account managers, creative teams, and senior management to ensure content is delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and expectations.

Quality Assurance:

Maintain a high standard of content quality across all platforms.

Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in content marketing and editing.

Localization & Adaptation:

Adapt content for different target audiences and platforms, considering cultural nuances and language preferences in the Philippines.

Ensure content is relevant and engaging for the Filipino audience.

Adherence to Deadlines:

Ensure all content editing tasks are completed within the agreed-upon deadlines.

Effectively manage workload and the workload of the team to prioritize tasks and meet client needs.

Kualifikasi Minimum

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Minimum of [5+] years of experience in content editing, writing, or a related role, preferably within a PR agency, marketing agency, or media organization in the Philippines.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of content creators.
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).
  • Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style guidelines (AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
  • Keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the Philippine media landscape and cultural sensitivities.
  • Proficiency in Filipino/Tagalog is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members.
