Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Section Head, the Filipiniana and Indexing Assistant III performs clerical functions such as encoding, retrieval, delivery, and segregation of Section library resource

Main Duties and Responsibility

A. Collection Maintenance and Preservation

a.1. Encode selected articles in the Computerized Index to Philippines Periodical Articles (CIPPA) database

a.2. Collects periodical collections for indexing and returns indexed periodical collections, from and to the Filipiniana area

a.3. Prepares and organizes materials by segregating materials for indexing, for encoding, for editing, and for safekeeping

B. Library user support

b.1. Attends to easy reference and directional queries of library users

C. Section Management Support

c.1. Prepares data and drafts reports required by the Section Head

c.1.1. Records, collates, and maintains statistical data on the assigned area of responsibility

c.2. Assists in the logistical preparations of Section events and exhibits c.3. Assists in orienting Student Assistants

D. Performs other tasks that may be assigned
