The Safety, Health and Environment Specialist will be assisting in the effective and efficient implementation of company rules and regulations including national, local and community laws pertaining to safety and health

Safety Control and Emergency Preparedness 

<ul>
	<li>Verifies and evaluates incidents/accidents/near misses reported by the ERT, assists in determining the root causes and corrective actions taken to prevent recurrence.</li>
	<li>Assists ERTL in the conduct of investigation of incidents/accidents and near misses and discusses report and analysis </li>
	<li>Maintains an incident recording system (accident statistics, man-hours worked) and presents these</li>
	<li>Submits annual/quarterly incident/accident/near miss reports to the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Offices and the Bureau of Working Conditions ,</li>
	<li>Identifies hazards (existing and potential), assesses risks, and implements controls to eliminate identified hazards.</li>
	<li>Maintains records of Health, Safety and activities and orientations, assists in emergency preparedness drills conducted and maintenance of fire fighting facilities.</li>
	<li>Prepares emergency preparedness plans, programs and responses to ensure risks are managed and mitigated; includes these in the existing emergency preparedness response procedures.</li>
	<li>Monitors and enforces use of personal protective equipment and maintains a list of PPEs provided. </li>
	<li>Prepares programs/activities in promoting housekeeping.</li>
	<li>Conducts regular and special Health, Safety, and Environmental inspections in coordination with grids and prepares inspection reports that are transmitted to the respective ERT for reference/action.</li>
	<li>Capacity Building on Occupational Health, Safety and Security </li>
	<li>Coordinates with Human Resource regarding Health, Safety and Environmental orientation and training programs, monitors and evaluates effectiveness of training programs in coordination with the Company Nurse and Department Heads. </li>
</ul>

Physical Security

<ul>
	<li>Assists in the facilitation of protection and resolutions of theft, threats, and other situations which may endanger well-being of the organization.</li>
</ul>

Environmental Management 

<ul>
	<li>Drives and ensures the compliance to all applicable regulatory requirements (PD 1586, PD 705, PD 1067, RA 6969, RA 9003, RA 8749, RA 9275) and other instrumentalities (MOAs) that the organization subscribes to.</li>
	<li>Develop strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the company.</li>
	<li>Plan and develop implement waste reduction policy, plans and programs</li>
	<li>Develop resource conservation plans within the company.</li>
	<li>Implements programs and plans that ensures the ecological integrity of the river and to the environment where hydro plants are situated</li>
	<li>Conducts research and prepares proposals to lessen the impact of hydro and solar operations to the environment. </li>
	<li>Initiates programs to reduce environmental impacts of hydro and solar power operations</li>
	<li>Monitor and evaluate progress of environmental improvement/management programs</li>
	<li>Assists in developing policies, strategies, programs and codes of practice on environmental management</li>
	<li>Acts as sustainability steward of the company. Thereby, relaying all applicable/feasible sustainability programs from Aboitiz Power to Hedcor.</li>
	<li>Review environmental incident investigation report; and approve corrective/preventive action.</li>
	<li>Collaborates with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems</li>
	<li>Ensure presence of risk treatment plans for all critical environmental impacts and monitor implementation.</li>
</ul>

Safety, Health and Environmental Specialist

The Electrical Engineer- Protection, Automation, and Control is responsible for conceptualizing and designing of protection, automation and control systems as well as monitoring of its implementation. This system should comply and conform to company’s protection philosophy and in accordance with the Company’s goals and objectives to develop and operate efficient electrical power systems. The incumbent is also responsible for simulating and foreseeing protection methods to protect the Company’s electrical system assets during abnormal and fault conditions on the system; and for providing technical assistance to all Hedcor plants located in Luzon and Mindanao for Protection, Automation, and Control related works.

<ul>
	<li>Conducts power system fault analysis using simulation software tools to anticipate abnormal/fault system conditions, potential problems and determine possible solutions to protect the system.</li>
	<li>Conceptualizes &amp; designs protection system for new and expansion projects. This includes, protection one-line and schematic diagrams and trip/alarm matrix and inputs/outputs assignments.</li>
	<li>Prepares protection settings (engineering &amp; logic) that adequately protect the system components during abnormal and fault conditions. Make coordination studies if necessary.</li>
	<li>Performs relay setting laboratory simulation. Recalculates settings based on results of simulation testing.</li>
	<li>Evaluates pre-wired protection and control diagrams for outsourced projects.</li>
	<li>Coordinates approved design on protection and control scheme with project engineers assigned to each project.</li>
	<li>Monitors projects by conducting site inspection, testing and audits to ensure compliance to design and specifications. Reviews updates from implementing team.</li>
	<li>Provides technical specifications to Purchasing, e.g. proper specifications of relays, CTs, breakers, PTs, etc. to enable them to procure the exact equipment and materials needed by the group.</li>
	<li>Conducts protection system audit &amp; review for existing plants.</li>
	<li>Maintains and reviews relay settings and coordination, internally and external customer</li>
	<li>Maintains relay setting database and protection diagrams.</li>
	<li>Develops and updates Hedcor Protection Philosophy, Code and Guidelines.</li>
	<li>Prepares Protection Development Plan.</li>
	<li>Conceptualizes and designs automation and tele-protection system.</li>
	<li>Prepares tele-protection and control schematic diagrams.</li>
	<li>Prepares Tele-protection system requirements.</li>
	<li>Prepares Scada programming and logic settings</li>
	<li>Maintains database of Scada and Control design and diagrams.</li>
	<li>Recommends network Automation projects.</li>
	<li>Provides resolution to protection and Scada/control systems problems and troubleshooting</li>
</ul>
