Ateneo de Manila University (Ateneo) is one of the leading universities in the Philippines. More than 150 years in existence, Ateneo has grown into a major Jesuit institution. Officially it became a university in 1959. It offers over 100 academic degree programmes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

I. AV Services Administration 
• Informs the team of equipment and service requirements of stakeholders. 
• Assigns AV Assistants in his/her zone to serve requesting stakeholders. 
• Leads the team in arranging AV rooms/equipment and delivering services. 
• Reports team attendance and facilities needing repair to the Section Head. 
• Recommends ways to improve AV services and capabilities.

II. AV Services Implementation 
• Regulates the use of assigned lecture halls, AV rooms, auditorium, classrooms, seminar rooms, and equipment. 
• Prepares, sets up, and operates AV equipment based on stakeholder requests, including projectors, computers, sound systems, cameras, and lights. 
• Checks rooms and equipment after office hours or overtime use. 
• Resolves AV-related concerns within the assigned zone or delegates matters to AV Assistants.

III. Equipment Lending 
• Administers AV equipment lending by checking forms, verifying online reservations, and recording details in the equipment logbook. 
• Monitors the logbook and lists faculty/students with unreturned equipment or items nearing due dates, then forwards these to the Department or Office of Student Services for reminder issuance. 
• Inspects equipment condition before and after lending.

IV. Preventive Maintenance 
• Checks and monitors time spent by AV Assistants on preventive maintenance. 
• Instructs AV Assistants on repairing and cleaning AV equipment, as needed. 
• Cleans and repairs equipment as part of preventive maintenance.

V. Performs other work-related tasks as required by the immediate supervisor or authorized representative.

• Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance for AV equipment upkeep.

• Repairing: Repairs AV equipment using appropriate tools. 
• Troubleshooting: Determines causes of operating errors and decides what action to take. 
• Lighting Setup: Operates, controls, sets up, and lays out lights based on specifications.

Audio Visual Technician II

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities: 
The Electrician I services job requests involving electrical equipment as assigned by the Foreman. This position also implements general electrical maintenance and activities that minimize the disruption of services provided in the different facilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 
I. Service Implementation 
• Repairs electrical equipment as indicated in the job request 
• Implements general electrical maintenance and circuit breaker corrective maintenance 
• Inspects circuit breakers, and other electrical components to determine issues and identifies appropriate action 
• Services electrical control, wiring, lighting systems, and fixtures 
• Resolves electrical issues using appropriate testing devices 
• Resolves electrical issues concerning motor controllers and pump controllers

 
II. Performs other work-related tasks as may be required by the immediate supervisor and authorized representative

 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
• Administration: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology 
• Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction 
• Building and Construction: Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads; Knowledge of Low Voltage Switchgear, 3 phase connections, single phase connections; Familiarity with the difference between 380V and 220V connections, as well as line to line and line to ground connections 
• Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; Ability to implement repair and maintenance of branch electrical panels, electrical contactor, lighting, wiring, switches, outlets, etc. 
• Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models 
• Time Management: Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others 
• Coordination: Ability to adjust actions in relation to others' actions 
• Service Orientation: Actively looks for ways to help people 
• Social Perceptiveness: Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do 
• Equipment Maintenance: Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed

• Installation: Ability to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications

• Operations Analysis: Ability to analyze needs and product requirements to create a design 
• Operations Monitoring: Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure that machine is working properly 
• Quality Control Analysis: Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance 
• Repairing: Ability to repair machines or systems using the needed tools 
• Troubleshooting: Ability to determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it
